Understanding Fisch Fishing Mechanics

Where Each Fish Bites

Every fish bites in certain places. Some only appear during a hunt, a migration or an eruption, and a few only come from Crab Cages. The calculator shows where, from each fish's page on the Fisch Wiki.

Weather, Time and Season

Fish prefer a time of day, a weather and sometimes a season. A fish spawns 35% more often in the weather it prefers and much less often outside its time of day; outside its season it still bites, just less often. The calculator lists what each fish prefers.

Rods and Baits

Luck makes rarer fish more likely, and a rod never hooks a fish whose lightest weight is above the rod's Max Kg. The calculator suggests the rod the wiki recommends for the fish when you can still get it and it can hold the fish, otherwise the luckiest rod that can, and the baits the fish prefers.

How accurate is the Fisch Calculator?

Places, times, weather, baits, progress penalties and sell values come from the Fisch Wiki (fischipedia.org), synced on the dates shown under each result. The rod is the wiki's own pick for the fish when you can still get it and it can hold the fish; otherwise it is the luckiest rod that can.

Why can't I find a certain fish?

Some fish only appear during hunts, migrations or events, and a few can no longer be caught. The Fish Database lists every fish, and crates, relics and other items behind a checkbox.

What rod should I use in Fisch?

Any rod whose Max Kg is above the fish's lightest weight can catch it; more Luck makes rarer fish more likely. The calculator names the wiki's pick for each fish when you can still get that rod.
