The best rod depends on how far along you are. Here are the top rods in Update 2.0, the full upgrade path, the best rods for money and XP, and a tool that picks your next upgrade.
Updated October 2026. Rod path from the Fisch Wiki's Update 2.0 progression guide, checked October 29, 2026.
Quick Answer: the Best Rod in Fisch
The best rods in Fisch right now are the Olympian Godbreaker (+265% Luck, 30% Gravitas (9.81x) and 30% Cragged (7x)) and the Stellarwave Melody (+244% Luck). Compare all 240+ Fisch rods by Luck, Control, Resilience, Lure Speed and price. Pick your current rod, then add your level and your C$ to see the next rod on the wiki's path and the upgrades you can buy right now, with estimates of how many hours each one takes to pay for itself.
How the Rod Advisor Picks Your Next Rod
Which rods. Only rods with more Luck than yours that you can still get; limited and event rods are left out. Enter your level or your C$ and the list keeps only rods with a C$ price that your level and your C$ cover; quest, crafting and bestiary rods drop out of it.
The rod path first. Above the estimates, the advisor shows the next step for your rod on the Fisch Wiki's Update 2.0 rod path, with its level and price, and tells you if your level or C$ falls short. A rod that is not on the path is placed by its wiki stage.
Where. Each rod is rated at the best place it can fish that needs no item, quest or vehicle, in daytime, with no bait, enchant or weather boost, so every rod is compared on the same terms.
How C$ per hour is estimated, for each fish at that place:
- Time per catch = waiting for a bite + the fight. The wait starts at 15 seconds and gets shorter with Lure Speed: 15 Γ 100 Γ· (100 + Lure Speed).
- Catches per hour = 3,600 Γ· time per catch, times the chance that fish bites.
- That chance starts from the fish's catch rate in our data. Every 10 Luck above the Luck level for its rarity adds 5% to it; below that level it drops, but never under a tenth of it. It never goes above 95%.
- Value per catch = the fish's average NPC sale at average weight, from Fisch Wiki prices.
- A place's C$ per hour is the average of its three best fish.
| Rarity | Fight time (our estimate) | Luck level (our estimate) |
|---|---|---|
| Common | 5 s | 0 |
| Uncommon | 8 s | 10 |
| Unusual | 12 s | 25 |
| Rare | 18 s | 50 |
| Legendary | 30 s | 100 |
| Mythical | 45 s | 200 |
| Exotic | 50 s | 300 |
| Secret | 60 s | 500 |
The verdict. 50% or more C$ per hour than your rod is a major upgrade, 20% or more a solid one, and under 10% says save for a bigger upgrade. Payback time is the rod's price Γ· the extra C$ per hour. If a rod takes more than 10 hours to pay back and a rod with more Luck costs less than 1.5 times its price, the advisor points you to that one instead.
What it does not know. Your bait, enchants, weather and mutations, events, and the game's real catch odds, which are not published. Fight times and Luck levels are our estimates, not measured in game, so use the C$ figures to compare rods, not as a promise. Rod stats and prices come from the Fisch Wiki; the rod path was checked October 29, 2026. For hourly estimates with your own bait, enchant and weather, use the Fisch Money Calculator.

The guide's last step also lists the Requiem (+277% Luck, Level 1000, crafted at the Ancient Archives for 15,000,000 C$) and the Fabulous Rod (+300% Luck, Level 1000, from the Fabulous Deity in the Calm Zone). It recommends the Olympian Godbreaker or Stellarwave Melody over them.
Best Rod in Fisch for Money
For C$, the guide's picks are the Olympian Godbreaker, Verdant Oath, Ruinous Oath and Stellarwave Melody. Its best money spot is The Sunken Reservoir during an Aurora Borealis, Rainbow weather or the Lucky status effect, with Fish Head bait and either Starforged Spirit + Sanctified or Greed + Sea Prince as enchantments.
Earlier on, the Midas Rod puts the Midas mutation (2.5x) on every catch. The guide then moves to the Fallen Rod and the Rod Of The Depths, enchanted with Abyssal (or Quantum on the Depths rod). To estimate what a rod earns at a spot, use the Fisch Money Calculator.
Best Rod in Fisch for XP
For levelling, the guide lists the Pinion's Aria, Great Rod of Oscar, Wisdom Rod and Celestial Rod, all enchanted with Clever and Wise, at Everturn Forest during an Aurora Borealis. The Blue Moon and Insight status effects and the Double XP pass add more. The Wisdom Rod is the one you can get early, at Level 50.

These rods ask for no player level, most Luck first. Some still need a bestiary, a quest or an event currency, so check how each one is obtained. Levels are from the Fisch Wiki, checked October 12, 2026.

FAQ - Best Rods in Fisch
What is the best rod in Fisch?
The Olympian Godbreaker and the Stellarwave Melody. The Fisch Wiki's progression guide for Update 2.0 ends with them and recommends them for both money-making and everyday fishing. Until you can get them, the best rod is the next one on the path: the Midas Rod early on, the Rod Of The Depths in the mid game and the Great Rod of Oscar in the late game.
What is the no. 1 rod in Fisch?
There is no single winner. The Olympian Godbreaker (+265% Luck) and Stellarwave Melody (+244% Luck) are the guide's top picks, while the Ruinous Oath, Verdant Oath and Fabulous Rod have the most Luck of the end-game rods at +300%. Luck is only one stat: abilities, mutations and Lure Speed matter as much for money.
Which rod is best for money in Fisch?
The guide's money rods are the Olympian Godbreaker, Verdant Oath, Ruinous Oath and Stellarwave Melody, used at The Sunken Reservoir during an Aurora Borealis or Rainbow weather with Fish Head bait. Earlier on, the Midas Rod puts the Midas mutation (2.5x) on every catch, and the guide then moves to the Fallen Rod and Rod Of The Depths with the Abyssal enchantment.
What are the top 5 rods in Fisch?
There is no official top 5. The guide's end game has six rods: the Olympian Godbreaker and Stellarwave Melody first, then the Verdant Oath and Ruinous Oath, and the Requiem and Fabulous Rod as the other end-game choices.
Which rod should I buy first in Fisch?
None: the first upgrade is free. Get the Magma Rod (+55% Luck) from the Orc at Roslit Bay for a Pufferfish, then save 55,000 C$ for the Midas Rod from the Travelling Merchant.
What is the best rod in Fisch with no level requirement?
By Luck: the Cinder Block Rod (+350% Luck; Purchasing - Ocean (50,000 C$)), the Masterline Rod (+350% Luck; 100% Rod Journal & Bestiary - Regionless), the Shady Rod (+350% Luck; Purchasing - Regionless (4,000 S$)). No level requirement does not mean no other unlock, so check how each one is obtained, and its Lure Speed: the Cinder Block Rod has -50%.
Which rod is best for XP in Fisch?
The guide's XP rods are the Pinion's Aria, Great Rod of Oscar, Wisdom Rod and Celestial Rod, enchanted with Clever and Wise and used at Everturn Forest. The Wisdom Rod is the early option, from Level 50.
Is Trident Rod worth 150,000 C$?
It gives +150% Luck and a 30% Atlantean (4x) mutation chance, and its Slash ability has a 25% chance on each fish movement to add 6% progress. That is more Luck than the Fallen Rod (+95% Luck) for less C$, but its 35% Lure Speed is slow and it is not on the wiki's main path. Whether it pays off depends on what you fish - the Fisch Money Calculator estimates your C$/hour with and without it.
Which Rod Makes the Most Money?
A better rod usually earns more, but how much more depends on where you fish. Our Fisch Money Calculator estimates C$ per hour for any rod at any location.
What Changed on This Page
- : The advisor now asks for your level and your C$: it shows the next rod on the wiki's path and only lists upgrades you can buy now.
- : Rechecked the rod path and every rod on it (price, Luck, Lure Speed and level) against the Fisch Wiki. Nothing had changed.
- : Added "How the Rod Advisor Picks Your Next Rod": what the tool assumes, how it labels an upgrade, and its limits.
- : Added the level requirement and wiki stage of every rod.
- : Rebuilt the best-rod answers on the Update 2.0 rod path. The tool now compares rods only at places you can reach without unlocking anything, and counts only normal fishing.
