The Fabulous Deity's Quests Step by Step

  1. 1

Reach level 1000 and find the Fabulous Deity

The Fabulous Deity stands in the Calm Zone, the lowest cave of Mariana's Veil, on a ledge near the roof above the shop that sells the Ethereal Prism Rod (GPS -4303, -11003, 3655). Climb the big stone spike north-east of that shop to reach the ledge. Below level 1000 the Deity will not give you the quest.

  2. 2

    Fabulous Beginnings

Catch 2 Shiny Sparkling Handfish, 1 Sunken Mutated Shark and 1 Sparkling Nova Frozen Walnut.

  3. 3

    Fabulous Findings

Catch 200 Dumbo Octopus, 1 Sunken Ancient Depth Serpent and 1 Shiny Rainbow Cluster Voltfish.

  4. 4

    Fabulous Torment

Catch 1 Sunken Spectral Serpent, 30 Baby Pond Emperor and 3 Sunken Brine Phantom.

  5. 5

    Fabulous Finale

Catch 1 Shiny Rainbow Cluster Crystallized Seadragon and 1 Sunken Scylla, then give the Deity a Shiny Mosaic Whale Shark. Finishing this quest gives you the Fabulous Rod and the Fabulous title.

Where the Mutations Come From

Most of the quest is about catching fish with the right mutation, and in Fisch mutations come mostly from the rod you hold. Set up the rod before you travel:

  • Sunken: the Sunken Rod (8%) or Dead Man's Rod (20%). Five catches need it, Scylla included.
  • Rainbow Cluster: the Rainbow Cluster Rod (20%), for the Voltfish and the Crystallized Seadragon.
  • Nova: the Cerulean Fang Rod (15%), for the Frozen Walnut.
  • Shiny and Sparkling can turn up on any catch; Mosaic is needed once, for the Whale Shark.

Every multiplier is in the mutations list. The Scylla step means a Scylla Hunt: see how to catch Scylla.

Fabulous Rod Stats and Ability

+300% Luck, +100% Lure Speed, 0 Control, 50% Resilience and no weight limit, plus +25% fish weight.

Every 0.4 seconds there is a 25% chance to slash the fish for 3% progress. After 3 slashes the rod gains +0.2 Control and +200% Forced Progress Speed, which fade over 3 seconds, so it reels best on fish that move a lot.

Best Enchants for the Fabulous Rod

  • Starforged Spirit with Sanctified: the wiki's top pick, for fish weight, resilience and progress speed.
  • Greed with Sea Prince: for the heaviest catches; without a Twisted Relic, use Sea Overlord or Sea King.
  • Herculean with Cryogenic: more control and a chance to freeze the fish. Controlled if you have no Exalted Relic.

Fabulous Rod Mastery

  • Glamorous Haul: catch 3 Fabulous Colossal Ethereal Dragons. Reward: +15% fish size and faster slashes on Fabulous fish.
  • Style and Substance: catch 10 Shiny Sparkling fish. Reward: the Glistening title and +5% Shiny and Sparkling chance.
  • Divine Collection: Perfect Catch 100 Fabulous Celestial Koi, Starlit Weaver or Aurora Trout. Reward: the Fabulous Bobber.
  • All three: the Golden Fabulous Rod skin.
