How to Get the Tryhard Rod in Fisch

The Tryhard Rod comes from RoRed's three-part quest at Roslit Bay, open to players at level 999 or higher. You prove yourself with the starter Flimsy Rod: two streaks of Perfect Catches, then a Megalodon on Tryhard Worm bait. In return every catch you reel in comes out with the Tryhard mutation (10x).

RoRed's Quest Step by Step

  1. 1

Reach level 999 and find RoRed

RoRed waits at Roslit Bay, just outside the exit of the Roslit Volcano parkour (GPS -1921, 262, 119). He only gives the quest to players at level 999 or higher.

  2. 2

    The True Tryhard, part 1

Using the Flimsy Rod, the starter rod, get a streak of 10 Perfect Catches. Any catch that is not Perfect resets it.

  3. 3

    The True Tryhard, part 2

Land 25 Perfect Casts that each end in a Perfect Catch, in a row, again with the Flimsy Rod.

  4. 4

    The True Tryhard, part 3

Put Hasty (an Enchant Relic enchant) and Tryhard (a Cosmic Relic enchant) on a Flimsy Rod, then catch a Megalodon with it using Tryhard Worm bait. RoRed gives you Tryhard Worms when this part starts and again if you run out; other baits do not count. The Megalodon only bites during a Megalodon Hunt behind Ancient Isle.

  5. 5

    Collect the Tryhard Rod

Finishing the third part gives you the Tryhard Rod and 5,000 Rod Journal XP.

The Megalodon Step

The last part is the hard one. The Megalodon only bites during a Megalodon Hunt behind Ancient Isle, started by a Megalodon Hunt Totem or by Disturbance while fishing at Ancient Isle. A Flimsy Rod has no stats of its own, so the Hasty and Tryhard enchants and Tryhard Worm do the work: the worm is one of the Megalodon's preferred baits.

If you run out of worms, RoRed gives you more; the Black Market also sells them (25 at 252,525 C$ each). The hunt, its timer and the Megalodon's penalties are on the Megalodon page.

Tryhard Rod Stats and Ability

Its ability: a 100% chance of the Tryhard mutation (10x) on every fish caught through the minigame (extra fish from passive abilities do not get it), +165% Progress Speed and +135% Forced Progress Speed. More on the mutation: Tryhard mutation.

Best Enchants for the Tryhard Rod

The wiki is blunt: this rod cannot work without an enchant or effect that adds Control.

  • Herculean with Sea Prince: control, progress speed and fish weight.

  • All three: the Golden Tryhard Rod skin.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you get the Tryhard Rod in Fisch?

Finish RoRed's three-part quest at Roslit Bay once you reach level 999: a streak of 10 Perfect Catches using the Flimsy Rod, 25 Perfect Cast plus Perfect Catch combos in a row with it, then a Megalodon caught on a Hasty and Tryhard enchanted Flimsy Rod using Tryhard Worm bait.

What level do you need for the Tryhard Rod?

Level 999. RoRed does not give the quest to lower-level players.

How do you get the Tryhard enchant on your rod in Fisch?

Tryhard is a Cosmic Relic enchant: use a Cosmic Relic at the enchanting altar. It gives +30% progress speed, -0.1 control, +50,000 kg max weight. The quest needs it on a Flimsy Rod together with Hasty (+55% lure speed) from an Enchant Relic.

How do you use the Tryhard Rod in Fisch?

Give it a Control enchant first: with -0.37 Control and -500% Resilience the wiki says it cannot work without one. Controlled brings it to -0.22 Control, Herculean to -0.17 and Magnitude Might to -0.13. Then fish as usual: every catch from the minigame comes out Tryhard (10x).

What is the best enchant for the Tryhard Rod?

The wiki's top pick is Magnitude Might with Sanctified and Crested, which slows the fish and adds weight, progress speed and control. Herculean with Cryogenic is the next choice (Controlled if you have no Exalted Relic), and Herculean with Sea Prince adds fish weight.

Is the Tryhard Rod worth it in Fisch?

For value, yes: every catch you reel in rolls the Tryhard mutation (10x), and it has +399% Luck, +165% Progress Speed and +135% Forced Progress Speed. The cost is handling: negative Control and Resilience mean it needs a Control enchant before it is usable.
