How Resilience Works
Every time you catch a fish, your rod takes "damage" based on the fish's weight. Light fish (Common, Uncommon) deal minimal damage. Heavy fish (Exotic, Mythical) deal significant damage.
Damage Formula (Simplified)
When accumulated damage exceeds 100, your rod breaks. Higher Resilience means each fish deals less damage.
This is why cheap rods break fast at end-game locations - they have low Resilience and can't handle the heavy fish.
When You Need High Resilience
High Resilience Needed (80+)
- - Catching Megalodon
- - Fishing at The Depths
- - Lava Serpent farming
- - Boss fish encounters
- - Void Dimension
Low Resilience OK (30-50)
- - Moosewood fishing
- - Roslit Bay (most fish)
- - Common/Uncommon targets
- - AFK fishing spots
- - Casual grinding
My Rod Break Experience
I learned about Resilience the hard way. Here's my rod casualty count before I figured this out:
Total C$ lost: ~150,000 C$ in broken rods
Fortune Rod has great Luck (+200%) but only 45 Resilience. I switched to Kraken Rod (95 Resilience) for heavy fish and haven't broken a rod since.
Best High-Resilience Rods
If you're targeting heavy fish, here are the best Resilience options:
Titanium Rod
Best overall durability
Steel Rod
Great mid-game option
Reinforced Rod
Affordable early option
Kraken Rod
Good Luck + decent Resilience

Resilience vs Other Stats
Should you prioritize Resilience over Luck? Here's my take:
For heavy fish farming: Prioritize Resilience (80+). A broken rod means 0 C$/hour. I use Kraken Rod for Megalodon.
For rare fish hunting: Prioritize Luck, but bring backup rods. Fortune Rod for Mythicals, with 2-3 spares in inventory.
For casual grinding: Prioritize Lure Speed. Light fish don't need much Resilience.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does Resilience do in Fisch?
Resilience determines how many fish your rod can catch before breaking. Higher Resilience = more catches before replacement. It's essentially your rod's durability stat.
How much Resilience do I need?
30-50 for beginner locations, 80+ for heavy fish (Megalodon, Lava Serpent), and 120+ if you never want to worry about rod breaks.
Can I repair my rod?
There's no repair mechanic in Fisch. Once your rod breaks, you need to buy or craft a new one. That's why Resilience matters for expensive rods.
Which rod has the highest Resilience?
Titanium Rod has the highest at 150 Resilience. It's specifically designed for catching the heaviest fish without breaking.
