The Trident Rod is located in the Underwater Kingdom area. Make sure you have access to this location first.

Find the Trident
Look for the trident stuck in the ground/coral. It's usually visible and has a distinctive glow.

Interact to Collect
Walk up to the Trident Rod and press the interact key to pick it up. It will be added to your rod inventory.
