During the hunt, fish the Collapsed Ruins pool on its east side, where it circles an island (magenta on the Fish Radar), with Shark Head; Fog, night and Winter raise your chances. Its -95% reeling penalty is locked. It can rampage: an 18% chance per fish movement, dropping 1.8% after each one down to 9%. A rampage takes 22% of your progress, and for 2.5 seconds your Control bar is 32% smaller, then waits 4 seconds.

Spawn Mechanics

Fishing in the Collapsed Ruins builds Disturbance; at 10,000 risk a Pliosaur Hunt starts, and 10% of those are Ancestral Pliosaur Hunts instead. The Tidemourner adds +2 Hunt Focus toward the Pliosaur Hunt. A hunt lasts 10 minutes, or until the fish is caught. The Tidefall Resurgence admin event also gives a 1% chance.
