How to Get Putrid
The one source most players can still use is the Putrid enchantment, which gives a 2% chance per catch. It is a Twisted enchantment, so you roll it from a Twisted Relic. The Him companion and the Clickbait Chaser harpoon also give Putrid, but neither can be obtained now.
Putrid multiplies a fish's sell value by -0.5x: a fish worth 1,000 C$ sells for -500 C$ with it. That is the only multiplier below zero in Fisch.

The Best Way to Get Putrid
Put the Putrid enchantment on a rod and fish: about 1 catch in 50 comes out Putrid. Do it only if you want the mutation itself, because there is no money in it at all.
Good to Know
- Putrid is the only mutation with a negative multiplier, so selling a Putrid fish takes C$ away from you. Keep these fish out of anything you sell.
- In a Personal Aquarium a Putrid fish earns 0 C$ per hour.
- The Appraiser never gives Putrid.
