How to Get Nates Blade in Fisch (Nate's Quest)

Since update 2.05 on October 10, 2026, Nates Blade is the reward for Nate's Quest instead of a Black Market buy. Talk to Miso in Nate's Cave on Sunstone Island, recover the Crimson Centerpiece and the Broken Blade, and rebuild the blade. It starts out Restricted, and the later stages of the quest lift that.

Checked on October 11, 2026 (game version 2.05) against the Fisch Wiki and three players' videos of the quest.

Nate's Quest Step by Step

The stage names below are the ones in the quest log. The links under each stage open the videos at the moment that stage is on screen.

  1. 1
    The Investigation

Talk to Miso in Nate's Cave

Nate's Cave is a new area on Sunstone Island. Miso, a cat, waits in front of the table next to the arcade machine (the wiki gives GPS -431, -853, -1244). Talk to Miso and follow it to Nate's computer. Unlock the computer by finding and entering Nate's PIN; a short film plays once it opens.

  2. 2
    Restore Nates Blade (Part 1)

Find the Crimson Centerpiece and the Broken Blade

The update log puts the missing pieces in the Crimson Cavern and the Depths Maze. The Crimson Cavern lies behind the red gate in the Luminescent Cavern. That gate opens after the Crimson Guard's quest, which asks for a Colossal Blue Dragon with the Crimson mutation, and the way in is an underwater tunnel, so wear diving gear. The Depths Maze is part of The Depths, behind the gate at the bottom of Vertigos Dip; that gate needs a Depths Key and a finished Vertigo Bestiary. In FreezaReborn's run, a whirlpool opened at Moosewood after the Centerpiece was found and led into The Depths, where an NPC named Oka asks for a Hexed Enchant Relic to be placed, so bring one.

  3. 3
    Restore Nates Blade (Part 2)

Reassemble the blade at Nate's Cave

Take both pieces back to Nate's Cave and put the blade together. Nates Blade is yours from here on, but marked Restricted: the game says it can only fish in original locations until the whole quest is done. If you owned the blade before 2.05, you also get Imprinted Relics holding its old enchantments; each one puts its enchantment back on a rod at the Keepers Altar.

  4. 4
    Relive the Trailer (Part 1)

Perfect Catch every fish at Moosewood Docks

Land a Perfect Catch on each fish the quest counts at Moosewood Docks. There are 10, and the quest log ticks them off as you go.

Seen in: FreezaReborn 6:01, Alek 5:24

  5. 5
    Relive the Trailer (Part 2)

Perfect Catch the Roslit Volcano fish

Land a Perfect Catch on every fish of Mythical rarity or lower that lives in the Roslit Volcano. This stage comes from the Fisch Wiki and the update log, which names the Volcano; the videos we checked skip over it.

    Relive the Trailer (Part 3)

Perfect Catch 20 Colossal Squid in Snowcap Cave

With Nates Blade in hand, land 20 Perfect Catches on Colossal Squid inside Snowcap Cave on Snowcap Island. FreezaReborn fished with Night Shrimp, the bait the wiki lists for the Colossal Squid.

  7. 7
    A Nostalgia Trip

    Finish the original game content

This is the stage that frees the blade's full power. It has eight goals (see the table below). Only the first one asks for catches with Nates Blade itself; the second wants 5 fish from each of the 15 original rods.

  8. 8
    Find Nate

Find Nate's Crown, Glasses and Lantern

Miso notices a familiar crown sitting on a lone buoy, which starts the hunt for three of Nate's things: his Crown, his Glasses and his Lantern. Where the Glasses and the Lantern are has not been confirmed yet.

  9. 9
    The Final Showdown

Confront Dr. It Fish, then talk to Nate

The trail leads to Dr. It Fish, the one behind Nate going missing. Confront him; once he gives in, talk to Nate to finish the quest.

Seen in: FreezaReborn 22:29, FreezaReborn 24:04

Places on the way: Luminescent Cavern, Crimson Cavern, The Depths, Moosewood, Roslit Volcano and Snowcap Island, with the fish each one has. Fish pages: Colossal Squid and Colossal Blue Dragon.

A Nostalgia Trip: the Eight Goals

The longest stage. The quest log counts each goal for you; the totals match in FreezaReborn's and Carbon Meister Plays' videos. In Carbon Meister Plays' video, the badges and some of the titles the player already had counted as soon as the stage began.

  • Three mutations: each catch has a 33% chance each for Lumpy, Rockstar and Bubblegum. Update 2.05 raised all three from 2x to 4x. See every multiplier in the mutations guide.
  • Heavier fish: +100% fish weight, and no fish is too heavy for it.
  • Control that grows: it starts every fight at 0 Control and gains 0.045 every 0.6 seconds while you reel the fish in.
  • Slash: each time the fish moves, the blade may slash it for +6% progress. The wiki changed the chance of this on October 11 and marked it as unverified, so we leave the number out until it is confirmed.
  • How it compares: 26 obtainable rods in our Fisch rod list have more Luck. For a pick at your level, try the Rod Advisor.

Not Confirmed Yet

  • Nate's computer PIN: none of the videos we checked shows it.
  • How to get into Nate's Cave.
  • Where Nate's Glasses and Lantern are.
  • Which 10 fish count for Moosewood Docks.
  • The slash chance after 2.05.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you get Nates Blade in Fisch?

Complete Nate's Quest, added in update 2.05 on October 10, 2026. Talk to Miso in Nate's Cave on Sunstone Island, find the Crimson Centerpiece and the Broken Blade, and reassemble the blade at Nate's Cave. The blade starts out Restricted: three Relive the Trailer stages and A Nostalgia Trip lift that, and Find Nate and The Final Showdown end the quest.

Where is Nate's Cave in Fisch?

On Sunstone Island. The Fisch Wiki puts Miso, who starts the quest, at GPS -431, -853, -1244, in front of the table next to the arcade machine. Neither the wiki nor the videos we checked show the way in yet.

Can you still buy Nates Blade?

Since 2.05 the only way the wiki lists is Nate's Quest, and it no longer gives the rod a price. Before that, it cost 200,000,000 C$ in the Black Market admin event or came from the code NickNatestage105.

What is the Nate's Quest code in Fisch?

SaveNate. It needed level 25 and expired on October 11, 2026 at 16:00 UTC. It gave 67 C$, a title, 10 Instant Catcher, 5 Luminous Larva and a random item.

What does Restricted mean on Nates Blade?

It is the state the blade is in after you rebuild it: until the quest is complete, the game says it can only fish in original locations. A Nostalgia Trip is the stage that lifts it; in FreezaReborn's video the Restricted tag is gone by The Final Showdown.

Is Nates Blade good?

It has +244% Luck, +119% Lure Speed, no weight limit and +100% fish weight, plus a 33% chance each for Lumpy, Rockstar and Bubblegum (4x each since 2.05). Its Control starts at 0 and grows during the fight. 26 obtainable rods have more Luck, so it is not the luckiest rod, but no fish is too heavy for it.

I had Nates Blade before 2.05. What happens to it?

FreezaReborn owned it before the update and still played the quest from the start; when the blade was reassembled, the game handed back its old enchantments as Imprinted Relics. Update 2.05 also added the Nates Ultimate Legendary Find skin, which the wiki lists as a reward for original owners.
