Doomsekkar Quest Step by Step
Steps 2 to 4 can be done in any order, and the first two count up together while you fish a pool.
- 1
Sail to the Caustic Hallow and talk to Doomsekkar
During FischFright 3, the Dutchman Captain on the east side of Moosewood takes you to the Caustic Hallow, the event island. Doomsekkar is the green-flamed NPC by the graves of the cemetery there (about GPS -14988, 146, -9663). Accept his quest before you start fishing the event pools: catches made earlier do not count.
- 2
Catch 100 fish from Frightful Pools
Every 45 minutes a Frightful Pool opens for 10 minutes near Moosewood, the Statue of Sovereignty, Terrapin Island or Harvesters Spike, in one of four kinds: Vile, Doomed, Grim or Eldritch. Any kind counts; ordinary ocean catches do not. A Frightful Pool Totem (3,000 Treats from the Dutchman Merchant) spawns one where you are.
- 3
Land 50 Perfect Catches in a row in Frightful Pools
This runs at the same time as the 100 catches, so one session in a pool works on both. The streak has to be unbroken: a single catch that is not Perfect sets it back to 0. Control is halved inside the pools, but FischFright 3 rods get +25% stats there. Use a rod you can control well, watch the counter in the quest tracker, and stay on one server until it is done.
- 4
Catch the ghost of a Haunted House
This is part of Trick-or-Treating. When a message says a numbered house feels haunted, find the house whose number glows green, equip your Candy Bucket and knock. When CATCH THE GHOST! appears, keep your cursor on the ghost until the bar fills. Make sure the tracker shows this step as done before you head back.
- 5
Return to Doomsekkar for the rod
With 100/100, 50/50 and 1/1 on the tracker, talk to Doomsekkar again. He hands over the Doomsekkar Rod and 3,000 Treats, and the rod adds 5,000 XP to your Rod Journal.
Pool times, places and drops are in the Frightful Pools guide. The streak is the hard part. A rod with plenty of Control makes Perfect Catches easier; the Rod Advisor lists the rods you can use at your level.
Doomsekkar Rod Stats and Pumpkin Bombs
- Pumpkin bombs: while you reel, the rod drops a pumpkin bomb on the bar every 0.8 seconds, away from the fish, with up to 6 on the bar. A bomb goes off when the fish swims into it and adds +8% progress (+2.8% on Progress Locked fish). Bombs nobody touches vanish after 45 seconds. The very low Resilience makes fish dart around, which is what sets the bombs off.
- Sixth bomb: after 6 detonations the rod slashes for +50% progress (+17.5% on Progress Locked fish), makes the fish 1.8x heavier, and gives you the Doomsekkar effect for 50 seconds. Each later bomb adds 10 more seconds of it to you and to every player within 50 studs.
- Doomsekkar mutation (8x): each catch starts with a 10% chance for it, and every bomb that goes off during the catch adds 8%. A Jagged Bone with it is one of the items for the Omniscient Spinecaster ritual. Compare it with the others in the mutations guide.
- Doomsekkar effect: 1.15x slash strength, 1.2x lure speed, 1.1x movement speed and a further +10% Doomsekkar chance while it lasts.
Event rods are often rebalanced while the event runs, so check the numbers on your own catches. Last year's rod is a different one: see the Dusekkar Rod. The other five event rods are in the FischFright 3 rods guide.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do you get the Doomsekkar Rod in Fisch?
Finish Doomsekkar's quest in the Caustic Hallow during FischFright 3: catch 100 fish from Frightful Pools, land 50 Perfect Catches in a row in Frightful Pools, and catch the ghost of a Haunted House. Then talk to Doomsekkar again for the rod and 3,000 Treats.
Where is Doomsekkar in Fisch?

Yes. The 50 Perfect Catches have to be in a row in Frightful Pools; one catch that is not Perfect sets the counter back to 0.
How long can you get the Doomsekkar Rod?
Only while FischFright 3 runs, which ends on November 9, 2026 at 17:00 UTC. Like past event rods, it is expected to become Limited afterwards.

+275% Luck, +100% Lure Speed, 0.1 Control, -666% Resilience and no weight limit, per the Fisch Wiki.
Is the Doomsekkar Rod the same as the Dusekkar Rod?
